Certificate of Good Standing
Confirms that you are registered with the SLMC, your registration is current and in good standing, and that no disciplinary proceedings are pending against you.
- Valid for 3 months from issue date
- Can be addressed to a named overseas authority
- Standard & apostille-ready versions available
Attestation of Qualifications
SLMC attestation confirming the authenticity and recognition of your primary medical or dental qualification obtained from a recognised institution.
- Requires original degree certificate
- Institution must be SLMC-recognised
- Turnaround: 5–10 working days
Letter of Status Confirmation
A formal letter confirming your current registration category, registration number, specialty (if applicable), and years of registration — often required for visa applications.
- Addressed to embassy / regulatory body on request
- Available in English
- Issued within 3 working days
Authentication of Documents
SLMC can authenticate copies of documents bearing the SLMC seal or issued by the SLMC for submission to foreign authorities or embassies.
- Bring original + photocopy
- Apostille can be obtained via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Applicable to certificates, letters, and endorsements

Specialty Endorsement Letter
A letter confirming a recognised specialty or sub-specialty endorsed on your SLMC registration, often required alongside the Good Standing certificate.
- Only available if specialty is endorsed on registration
- Issued together with Good Standing on request
- State specialty in your application
Important: Maintain Your SLMC Registration
Your SLMC registration must be active and in good standing at the time of application. Practitioners on leave-of-absence or with lapsed registration must first reinstate their registration before applying for any of the above documents.
Application Process
Follow these steps to obtain your certificate or letter. Most applications are processed within 5–10 working days.
Log in to e-Services
Visit the SLMC e-Services portal and log in with your registered credentials. If you do not have an account, register using your SLMC registration number and NIC.
Select the Document Type
Under "Overseas Employment" or "Certificates", select the document you require — e.g., Certificate of Good Standing, Attestation of Qualifications, or Letter of Status Confirmation.
Upload Supporting Documents
Upload required supporting files such as a copy of your degree certificate, ID, and any letter from the receiving authority specifying what is needed. Requirements vary by document type.
Pay the Fee
Pay the applicable fee online through the e-Services portal. Fee details are shown at checkout. Payments are non-refundable once processing begins.
Processing
The SLMC will verify your registration status, review submitted documents, and process the request. Standard processing time is 5–10 working days. Urgent processing may be available — contact SLMC for details.
Collection or Dispatch
You will be notified when the document is ready. Collect in person at the SLMC office or request courier delivery. The SLMC can also send the document directly to the receiving authority upon request.
