Specialist Registration

Expedited processing of the Certificate of Good Standing. Available when standard processing time does not meet your requirements. Higher fee applies.
Duplicate Registration Certificate
Apply for a duplicate registration certificate if the original is lost, damaged, or destroyed. A statutory declaration of loss may be required.
Additional Qualification Registration
Register a postgraduate, fellowship, or other additional academic qualification with your SLMC registration record.

Update your registered contact details, residential address, or other personal information held on the SLMC medical register.

AHP Initial Registration
Initial registration for Allied Health Professionals (nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, MLT, radiography, OT, SLT, optometry, and more).
AHP Annual Renewal
Renew your Allied Health Professional registration each year. CPD evidence is required. Failure to renew by the deadline results in lapse of registration.
AHP Restoration of Lapsed Registration
Restore a lapsed AHP registration. CPD records, a statutory declaration, and evidence of continued practice or retraining may be required.
AHP Certificate of Good Standing
Certificate confirming AHP registration status and good standing with SLMC. Required for overseas employment applications or further professional study.
Overseas Credential Assessment
Application for assessment of an overseas medical or dental qualification not on the SLMC recognised institutions list. Required before registration can proceed.
Equivalency Examination Application
Apply to sit the SLMC equivalency examination if required following an overseas credential assessment. The exam tests core clinical and theoretical knowledge.
Temporary Registration — Category A
Short-term registration for foreign practitioners visiting Sri Lanka for medical camps, humanitarian missions, or specialist outreach. Up to 3 months duration.
Temporary Registration — Category B
For foreign practitioners appointed to an approved Sri Lankan institution for a specific clinical post or health project. Duration up to one year, renewable.
Temporary Registration — Category B Renewal
Renew a Category B temporary registration for a further year. Continued institutional sponsorship and good standing are required for renewal.
Temporary Registration — Category C
For foreign practitioners engaged in academic teaching or clinical research at a recognised Sri Lankan university or research institution.
SLMC Practitioner ID Card (New)
Apply for your official SLMC practitioner identity card. Required as proof of registration when practising at institutions or for professional purposes.
SLMC Practitioner ID Card (Replacement)
Apply for a replacement practitioner ID card if the original is lost, stolen, or damaged. A statutory declaration may be required.
Internship Completion Certificate
Request an official SLMC internship completion certificate to confirm that your mandatory internship training has been successfully completed and recorded.
